True documentary wedding photography is capturing candid moments that create a narrative within photographs. All without the photographer’s direction. I feel it is to capture the real, honest, raw character and emotion of everyone at your wedding.
I am for the couples who don’t like posing
I do not believe a wedding should feel like a photoshoot. A wedding is a day of unity and celebration with the people who care about you most. Who wants to spend it posing for hours when you could be partying? Not me! My job is to capture the real you, without it feeling contrived and taking you away from the fun. A chill 15 minutes is all I need to capture your natural authentic self’s.
The Secret Garden

As one of Kent’s most romantic venues, it is the beautiful backdrop for a secluded, intimate wedding.
Based in the original Mersham le Hatch estate in Ashford, its stunning historic surroundings provide a perfect and secluded escape for weddings. There are endless photo opportunities to suit couples of all tastes and styles - from the stunning relaxed and rustic Wild Flower Gardens and Shepard’s Hut to the historic and elegant Cobbled Courtyards, Old Archways and Clock Tower. This venue is a dream for photographers as well as couples!
It is personally one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at.

Situated in the glorious countryside, this historical setting has been family-owned and -operated since 2005. The onsite barns, lush gardens, and high-quality service will ensure that you and your guests enjoy a one-of-a-kind wedding experience.
Marleybrook House
Wedding Venue in Canterbury, Kent
Marleybrook House, nestled in the picturesque English countryside of Kent near Canterbury, serves as the perfect backdrop for an exciting, memorable wedding. I have photographed at Marleybrook house multiple times, and am one of their most recommended photographers. This unique venue boasts a funfair, complete with a rollercoaster, dodgems, and a vintage fair, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebration. Without a drought, Marleybrook House in Kent is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at.

It’s your very own secret garden, with nine acres of immaculately landscaped grounds surrounding a tranquil lake with a tumbling waterfall. Winner of multiple awards for best wedding venue in Kent.
Choose from three indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony options, each as beautiful as the other. The Lapa is the perfect location for a woodland wedding on the lake. The Gazebo is an elegant setting for a ceremony on the lawn. And the enchanting Garden Room, flooded with light, enjoys views over the bridge and across the water.
The Gardens Yalding

The Ferry house Inn
Wedding Venue on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent
You’ll find The Ferry House Inn secreted away beside the Swale estuary on the North coast of Kent. The venue is among a picture-perfect landscape of wild meadows and natural wetland reserves. Secluded yet accessible just 60 minutes from London, they specialise in refined rustic weddings and expansive seasonal menus using their home-grown, family-farmed and locally sourced produce.
Personally, the Ferry House Inn is one of my favourite to photograph. The long open track leading down to the Swale estuary lights up in the evening sun, and delivers exceptional scenery.
Westernhanger Castle

The Castle Westenhanger in Kent, a castle wedding venue nestled in 14 acres of magnificent countryside close to Ashford. Romantic and regal with breathtaking ruins to be found at every turn, The Castle Westenhanger is your medieval fairytale dream. Located near the historic market town of Hythe, the castle is a scheduled ancient monument with a Grade 1 listed manor house. It enjoys a rich history and has been connected to many notable figures throughout history, including Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.
Hayne House

Hayne House is set within 35 acres of beautiful grounds near Hythe, Kent. Couples can enjoy exclusive use of the unique orangery and the former Hunting Pavilion with six bedrooms. Upon their arrival, your guests will be warmly welcomed at the Heritage Barn before being led to the Fathom Barn for your romantic ceremony. Following your ceremony, a delicious wedding breakfast and reception will be held in the Tithe Barn, I can personally couch for the food. This venue can accommodate for 160 seated guests to dine and up to 250 for the evening festivities. The gorgeous landscaped grounds are sure to inspire and impress your guests and your photographer. The beautiful surroundings, complete with castle turrets and blooming floral gardens, offer the perfect backdrop for your all-important photos.
Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral is both a holy place and part of a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site. Pilgrims and visitors have made their way to Canterbury Cathedral since the Middle Ages. If you are lucky enough to be able to marry inside the Cathedral you will be a dawned with stunning architecture and picturesque interiors. I have been truly blessed and have photographed a couple of wedding within Canterbury Cathedral, and each time I enter the feeling owe hits me every time.

When I publish my photography, I want you to see the photos I take from real weddings. Not just a styled photoshoot. Every part of a wedding day is filled with photographic opportunities. And being a specialist documentary wedding photographer in Kent I like to be there to capture it all. From the in-between moments when mum helps bride into her dress, to the kids running around in the background during the ceremony. It’s all important to me!
My Approach
A wedding is not a photoshoot
There are so many ways a photographer might capture a wedding. But I truly believe the documentary approach, with a hint of natural portraiture is the best way to remember a wedding day. I love to capture weddings so that my couples and their guests can remind them selves just how it felt, lots of laughter, love, tears, emotion and dancing. I document all the best bits and in-between moments, which are often my couples favourite memories from the day.

Scott was great on the day, most of the time we didn’t even know he was there. One of our big things was that we didn’t want to be taken off for hours having photos taken and not spending time with our guests. Anytime we did go for photos Scott didn’t keep us long at all and got some amazing shots!
